The Buglioni family purchased their property in Valpolicella in 1993 and have worked tirelessly in the vineyards while renovating the cellars and farmhouse. The 'Il Bugiardo' is a baby-Amarone that over delivers. A portion of the classic grapes are dried and vinfied and then fresh juice is added for a second fermentation (ripasso). This leads with an explosion of dark cherries and vanilla. Then come spices and earth. Dense and complex, but showing polish and form. Full-bodied, very structured and long on the finish.
Dark ruby-red color. Intense and elegant aromas of ripe fruit and spices with hints of vanilla and tobacco. Warm, persistent flavors, velvety and harmonious. Open the bottle at least 1 hour before serving.
