This exceptional vineyard is to be found in Perno, a village under the municipality of Monforte d’Alba, and it is among the best of the area. The bouquet is intense and complex with a perfume of leather, licorice and balsamic aromas that slowly take shape in the glass. Full bodied and taut, this delivers dried black cherry, mature raspberry, sweet spices set against fresh acidity and firm, refined tannins. The Perno is an extraordinary wine with great structure, balance and harmony and an amazing longevity.
