KOOL - Vino Rosso Piemonte (750ml)

From the Piedmont region of Italy this red blend is 60% Ruche and 40% Pinot Noir. Ruche is a variety of Piedmont in Italy that has risen from virtual obscurity as a little-known, dark-skinned variety to having its own DOCG appellation.  Some say it is indigenous of the area and others claim it has Burgundian roots. Ruche wines can be characterized by their lightness in color and complex aromas – somewhat akin to the lauded Nebbiolo of the region. The similarities continue with Ruche having fine but forceful tannins and good acidity to stimulate the palate. It blends nicely with Pinot Noir resulting in a wine with an intense ruby hue and a purple rim. An exuberant bouquet of wild berry, jam and hibiscus flower. The palate is warmly expressed by floral notes and jammy red fruit. Balanced body and soft velvety tannins the taste is rounded and very fresh. This fantastic wine is suitable for dishes like meat, wild game and cheese.
