Planet Oregon Wines from Soter Vineyards are a responsibly delicious choice. Established in 2009, Planet Oregon was founded with a goal to make delicious, environmentally responsible wine at an accessible price. Winemakers James Cahill and Tony Soter make Pinot Noir for the people with respect to the planet. They continually seek to produce and bottle delicious young Pinot Noir that is consistently fresh, silky and suggestive of Oregon summer cherries and berries. They farm their grapes sustainably, protecting streams and rivers from run-off that can harm fish and other wildlife. They monitor carbon emissions, energy use, and waste production to ensure the only mark they leave on this Planet is a wine stain or two. Oregon is a world- renowned wine region especially for Pinot Noir. Their grapes are farmed in the Willamette Valley and a portion of their profits from the sale of Planet Oregon wines are donated to the Oregon Environmental Council.
20% whole cluster with 7 months in French oak barrels, 5% of which were new. Classic Oregon Pinot Noir with flavors of ripe dark cherries and Oregon bramble berries. While lithe and versatile, this wine shows a deep core of fruit and has an ample body with substantial richness for a young wine. Firm tannins and notes of spice add to the lingering finish.
A fresh, juicy wine with dark strawberry and lemon rind, as well as stone. Medium-bodied with firm, integrated tannins and fresh acidity. Nicely balanced.
